The Monday and Wednesday trap

The villa is shut every non-holiday Monday AND Wednesday, largely because private events and weddings take those days. Two closed days a week is unusual for a major sight, and it wrecks more Lake Como itineraries than any other single fact. Check the day of the week before anything else.

From 14 to 28 February the villa opens on weekends only. From 14 March it opens daily except those Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:00–18:00, with last park entry at 17:00 and the last guided villa tour at 16:00, subject to availability - FAI recommends arriving by 15:30 for the interior. In November hours shorten to 10:00–17:00, last entry 16:00, last tour 15:00. December runs on select dates only, at the same winter hours.
